Monday January 16 - Dr. King’s Annual Community Celebration and Walk - "Remembering Bloody Sunday," meeting at Wallace Marine Park and walking to Oregon State Capitol, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A citywide parade, reenacting Bloody Sunday, will begin at 9:30 am, crossing the West Salem bridge and marching to the State Capitol steps. Theme: "THE TIME IS ALWAYS RIGHT TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT." We will conclude with City and Community leaders discussing the issues that are on the minds and hearts of our community. The coalition of churches will provide van transportation from the Capitol steps returning all marchers to Wallace Park, West Salem, to retrieve their vehicles at the conclusion of the event. This will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
