Portland's African American Read-In---An Absolutely Necessary Event!


Celebrate Black History Month with Black literature! Join us as community members and local celebrities read from their favorite works by African American writers. Fiction and nonfiction for children, teens and adults will be featured in a special gathering of good words from great writings.

Renee Watson, author of This Side of Home (nominated for Best Fiction for Young Adults by the American Library Association) and soon-to-be released Piecing Me Together.

Kate Carroll de Gutes, 2016 winner of both an Oregon Book Award and a Lambda Literary award.
Intisar Abioto, photographer, creator of The Black Portlanders.
